The mezzanine finance world was somewhat dormant at the turn of the millennium as senior debt funders were gearing much more aggressively as, arguably, an understanding of risk had been diluted by sustained growth in the market.
When the credit crunch struck in 2007, we quickly identified the opportunity appearing as funders retrenched and our clients were exposed. As well as brokering significant volumes of mezzanine facilities, we raised our own pot of money to exclusively deploy into our existing clients.
Mezzanine finance is now utilised by all sizes of Developers as one of their tools to ensure they secure the best opportunities and optimise use of their own, or their investors, funds.
Despite the much more dynamic funding landscape that exists, the mezzanine marketplace remains an active one. We continue to actively and successfully run Clarity Financial Ltd whilst also brokering deals across the market.
